Cheryl Lewin, Nidan, Goju Ryu Karate-do, is hosting a 12-week self defense course for children. This course will give children basic skills to increase their confidence and defend themselves, as well as introduce them to the concepts of Karate-do as a discipline.


What children will learn:

• Basic blocks, strikes and kicks
• Beginners Jui jitsu (arm and wrist grabs)
• Beginners Kata (real fight with imaginary opponent)
• Beginners meditation to quiet and focus the mind
• Two person drills and Japanese terminology of stances


DAY & TIME: Saturdays 330 PM to 430PM
DATES: Jun 16, 23, 30, Jul 7, 14, 21, 28, Aug 4, 11, 25, Sep 1, 8
FEES: $3950 for 12 weeks, cost includes manuals, Gi's (karate$500 (non-refundable) deposit to:

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Cheryl has been training in the Martial Arts in Toronto Canada, under Renshi Patrice Williams, for six years. She has assisted in teaching Karate-do for five years. Cheryl has taught both adults and children in her Martial Arts career, and currently focuses on teaching children.

She has also participated in many different community outreach programs in Toronto, such as Youth Assisting Youth, and Stop the Violence campaigns aimed at high risk inner city youth.

Cheryl’s love of martial arts and teaching the art is now expanding right here in Hong Kong, where she practices as a Registered (Clinical) Massage Therapist at Sutherland-Chan Centre.

Cheryl’s teaching style is practical and applicable, giving children confidence in self-defense right from the first class. Do not miss this opportunity to give your child these valuable skills, learnt from a skilled expert with real experience.
